Meet a Female Fighter Pilot and Navigator

On 1st November you can book to attend a talk in our Lecture Theatre by one of the first female fighter crews in the world.  Helen Seymour, the RAF’s first female Typhoon pilot, and Rosie Steevenson, a former frontline Tornado navigator, will be sharing their experiences of life in the RAF and operational flying from their unique perspective.

Helen and Rosie will take you through how they came to join the RAF and their experiences from an individual as well as a crew perspective to give rarely heard insights into life on the frontline.  They will talk about working under extreme pressure and how they learned to operate effectively in a high-performance culture, and how they now hope to inspire future generations.

There will be an opportunity to ask them questions in the theatre after their talk, and then at 2:30 they will move down to the Tornado in Hangar 4 for further questions in front of the aircraft they flew together.
