Spitfire Cockpit Experience London - Premium
This exclusive 30 minute experience offers a rare chance to get up close and personal with not one, but two WW2 Spitfires, including our genuine Battle of Britain veteran Mk 1A Spitfire, X4590. You will be given a personal tour around the aircraft as well as a rare opportunity to view into the cockpit, from which Pilot Officer Sydney Jenkyn Hill of 609 squadron, shared in the shooting down of a Junkers 88 in October 1940.
Surviving the Battle of Britain, X4590 would later go on to briefly serve with the legendary 303 (Polish) squadron!
You will then take to the pilot’s seat of our late WW2 Mk 16 Spitfire, RW393. With a pilots-eye view from inside the cockpit, you will be treated to a detailed and incisive ‘hands on’ guide to the controls and instruments, learning about the capabilities of this iconic fighter aircraft as well as the tactics used by its pilots in aerial combat.
You will also receive a certificate of your Spitfire experience as well as a souvenir Spitfire notebook and keyring, as a treasured momentoes of your visit.
Please arrive at the Museum approximately 30 minutes before the start of your session, this will give you the chance to head to the Admissions desk, get checked in and walk over to Hangar 3.
